Be “fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.” – Warren Buffett
Any average investor knows this sentence or is at least familiar with it.
The idea behind it is that the best opportunities lay in rough times, like the one we’re living right now more or less since the 2020 pandemic.
Are You Fearful Right Now?
We’re all humans, so… just like me, I bet you are a little bit scared of investing right now.
Our brains have been programmed for more than a hundred of thousand of years ago to not lose what we value the most.
Back then it was hard to get food for the family, to find shelter, water, basically the basic of needs which we all have as guaranteed nowadays. It was also very easy to lose it all though…
All of those sentiments and feelings are still ingrained in our brains because just recently have our lives improved to a degree where we don’t need to look for those resources on a daily basis.
Therefore, it’s completely normal you feel scared to take a decision on times like this, but don’t lose hope!
A Well Trained Mind Is The Way
Just like having a strong and healthy body, the mind should also not be ignored.
You can think you’re good at something, but you’ll never reach your potential if you don’t equally care about your body and mindset.
Knowledge mixed with the skills mentioned above will make you resilient to adversities in the market, no matter what.
So, if you also agree that time in the market is better than timing the market, you shouldn’t stop your strategy just because things may seem groom.
Trust Your Strategy
We all make our due diligence before investing, right? Well, I do and I hope you too!
As an example, currently I invest in VWCE, which is an index that tracks stocks from developed and emerging countries worldwide.
Should I change my strategy because of the external factors? Of course not, no one can predict what will happen.
If the price it goes lower, you are buying it with a discount, when it goes up, you should keep buying because NO ONE really knows the future.
